Veterinary Technicians and Assistants

Nursing supervisor Beth Baker began her tenure at Swengel Animal Hospital as a receptionist in 1990. She later trained to become a veterinary assistant and, later, a veterinary technician, before taking over as nursing supervisor. Beth enjoys being part of the hospital's caring, compassionate staff and she loves getting to know clients and their pets.
At home, Beth cares for two Chihuahuas, Sly and Kiwi. Beth's hobbies include reading, going to the gym and cheering her husband on in cycling competitions.

A registered veterinary technician in charge of laboratory maintenance and quality control at the hospital, Michael J. Jackson has been part of the Swengel Animal Hospital staff since 2004.
Michael attended Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, where he received an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology and graduated third in his class. Michael is also a member of the Veterinary Technician Behavioral Society. Michael loves working with animals and is proud of the high level of patient care provided by the veterinarians and hospital staff.
Bicycling, tennis, astronomy, and entomology (the study of insects) are among Michael's many interests. He also serves as a children's pastor at his church.

Erin Noonan has been working with animals since she was 14 years old. Now a licensed veterinary technician, Erin has been part of the Swengel staff since she received her Associate's Degree in Applied Science and Animal Health in 1990.
The quality of animal care, the attention to patients and the caring staff are among the many reasons Erin enjoys working at Swengel Animal Hospital.
Erin is a member of many professional organizations, including the Indiana Veterinary Technicians Association, the Ohio Association of Veterinary Technicians and the North American Veterinary Technician Association.
In her spare time, Erin enjoys cooking and watching sports with her son. Her family also includes Big Jake Jr., a black and white toy Fox Terrier, and two cats, Tracy and Jay-Jay.

A native of Elwood, Indiana, veterinary assistant April Lambrou joined the Swengel staff in 2001. April enjoys the family-like atmosphere at the hospital.
April can often be found camping and walking trails with her two dogs, Sunny Day and Sadie. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends and shopping.

Veterinary assistant Shelby Mitchell joined the Swengel staff in 1995. Shelby finds working with animals to be rewarding and enjoys the friendly atmosphere at the hospital.
Shelby's hobbies include gardening, camping and going to parks, with her energetic toddler, Sara, close behind. Shelby's family also includes Mocha and Chakota, a pair of Labrador Retrievers, and Monte, a cat.
